So it's, you know, I used to do that with boats when people buy high-end boats and it'd be like, oh, it's a difference in this and this. And, you know, when you get inexpensive boats, you get into kind of crazy numbers. And I'm like, the difference between these boats is a Ferrari. You know, like, you go buy this one for 500 or this one for 800, and you go buy this one and a Ferrari, or you can buy this one. You know what I'm saying? And I'm not saying you shouldn't buy the $800,000 one,

but you put it in those terms.

They're like, there's a Ferrari more expensive. It's like, oh, okay. So, and you kind of forget that with science. Oh, man. You should still be a boat broker, Matt. That's fantastic. Ahoy, hoi, shipmates. Welcome back to On the Wind. I'm your host,

Andy Shell. Back again with another episode where Matt Rutherford and I sit down and shoot the

shit about all sorts of random stuff. This was probably the most random episode we've ever done.

We spent the first like 10 to 15 minutes talking about techno music and

DJing and Matt's turntables. But it's always a delight talking to Matt. Obviously we bring it,

we always bring it back to sailing, which is which is kind of the point. So this was a particularly

fun one. Before we get into it, quick updates on 59 North. We just launched a new newsletter.

So we've had this Skippers Briefing newsletter that's done by the quarterdeck, which is our

educational newsletter. That comes out on the first of each month or thereabouts. We just

launched a new one called the logbook, which also comes out monthly, but comes out middle of the month.

And the logbook is more of a marketing email where we talk

about open bunks we have on our trips, upcoming events, stuff like that. But each issue is written

by one of the full-time staff at 59 North to give a glimpse behind the scenes of what we do. So,

for example, I wrote the first one, and I talk about

how we create the sailing schedules like two years in advance and how we plan them and the tools

we use in order to mitigate the risk of the domino effect if we have a delay due to weather

or maintenance or whatever. There's quite a lot that goes into this.

I talk about this in detail in the logbook newsletter. So that's how it opens up. And then the rest of the newsletter is basically what's coming up at 59 North. Speaking of which,
