We were doing the classic audio technician trick of when you want to get a mic check from someone before the show or before an interview, you asked them what they had for breakfast.

The thinking being that it just happened to them, it'll be on the tip of their tongue, and it won't like burn or ruin any conversation you're going to have later, unless you're

interviewing John Kellogg, I suppose.

But also, has anyone ever, anytime I've ever asked anyone that question, they've gone, it's like, all right, yeah, just let me get a check on that. I'm like, what'd you have for breakfast? It's always, uh, well, I normally I do eat breakfast, but I knew I had this thing coming up and so I just, you know, I just wanted to go in on an empty stomach.

Like no one's ever said, all right, let me just get a check on that mic.
