Matt just got back from his 100 mile run, the Burning River 100-miler out in Ohio.

And I haven't actually discussed anything with him about the race.

So I am just as interested as all of you about hearing his reports.

So we're just gonna kind of go through a bunch of hydration and pacing and

all kinds of interesting stuff that I think readers and listeners will be will be into. So Matt, are you awake?

I am awake. I got a good solid sleep last night and the night before that.

Not so much the previous two nights. I had hoped to get a lot of sleep like the day

before the race because I had watched Michael

Arnstein has a video on YouTube about ultra running and he in that really

stress the importance of getting a lot of sleep and said how he like adjusted

schedule the week before the race and like tries to go to bed at 8 p.m.

and make sure he's up by 3 a.m.

So that he's right on the race schedule.

Well, I had kind of hoped to do that, but then I had a friend come to visit and a bunch of other stuff, you know, two kids and all that, and it just didn't happen.

So I end up tossing and turning in bed until about midnight and had a 3.30 alarm for the race. So it was it was not much sleep maximum four hours.

Yikes. Yeah and you know I don't think that was it was a huge impact on my race at least. I never really felt tired in like the sleepy kind of way at least.

So I don't know and then I actually I fell asleep within within 10 minutes of finishing the race I laid down I like just kind of laid back and and I think a minute later I was asleep and I just woke up and then and then like a couple minutes after that I felt with my head just in my hand kind of like leaning on the
