Hello and welcome back to Sociology 101. Today we're going to look at the doctrines of God's

0:04.7

foreknowledge and predestination by interacting with a sermon delivered by Matt Chandler at the

0:11.7

Marks 9, you know, 9 Marks, excuse me, conference there at Southeastern a couple of years ago.

0:18.4

And many of you know, I am friends with Matt and have a lot of respect

0:22.8

for him. This is not to disrespect him personally, obviously, just like my other critiques with

0:26.7

Piper and Greer and Keller and all the other Calvinists. I have a huge amount of respect, but I

0:32.8

just simply disagree, and I can do so without being disagreeable. So I say these things in genuine

foreknowledge and predestination, but I just don't think those words mean what you think they mean.

1:10.3

Like I know he said foreknowledge, but what I think he means is, and I know he said predestined

1:16.2

to determine beforehand, but what I think he means.

1:18.4

And so I always just want to add, if you read the Bible, does the apostle Paul come off

1:22.7

like a guy who uses slang?

1:25.9

Does he?

1:27.1

Like, if Paul calls you a fool, that's not, that's not like,

1:33.7

you're his boy. What's up, fool? That's not, he's calling you a fool, all right? It's not

1:39.5

slang. He thinks you're a fool. All right?
