Please be advised. Social life Irene Silverman was enjoying a festive dinner with two friends in the kitchen of her Bow Arts mansion on the Upper East Side on July 4th, 1998.

When the 82 year old woman looked up at the closed circuit security monitors on her wall, she

grew agitated. There was her newest tenant ducking his face from the camera. Again. The wealthy widow regretted renting an apartment

in her luxury building to the young man. A week after his arrival, she became suspicious of his secretive behavior and asked

him to leave. But he refused. Next, she cut the phone service to his apartment, but he would not budge.

Silverman's friends worried about her safety and Silverman's staff voiced their concerns about her

staying there alone while they were off for the holiday.

But Silverman was not easily intimidated.

She felt everything would be resolved that coming Monday morning, July 6th,

the day her business manager was going to serve the difficult tenant and eviction notice.

But the feisty widow did not understand what she was up against,

and within hours, Irene Silverman would vanish off the face of the earth.
