with COVID-19. Now general Colin Powell, what a controversial figure. But I have to tell

you that early on, he was one of the people that I looked up to in the conservative movement.

Yes, back in the day, we saw him as a conservative as a Republican, a proud Republican. And Colin

Powell, the first black Secretary of State, whose leadership and several Republican administrations

helped shape American foreign policy in the last years of the 20th century. He was that

big. He was one of those quiet souls, one of those giants who worked behind the scenes.

And I kind of compare him to Jackie Robinson, who broke all kinds of barriers in baseball,

but not just the race barrier. That's a big thing. But I mean, the man was a brilliant

baseball player. And you never really knew of all of the stuff that he had to put up within

the background, all of the isms. You didn't find about that about that until much later.

of African descent, a born out of the deep South, I believe in poverty, at least, you
