studios in Central London. I'm Tim Franks. The BBC has uncovered testimony from what may be one of the worst incidents of mass killings in Myanmar's civil war.

Hundreds of civilians and the Rohingya Muslim community were bombed on August the 5th as they try to flee the conflict.

It's the latest in the history of deadly violence against the Rohingya people.

In 2017, thousands were killed in what was described by the

UN as ethnic cleansing at the hands of the country's military. In recent months,

scores of Rohingya Muslims have been killed and thousands have fled to Bangladesh from neighbouring Myanmar.

But now they say they're also being attacked by the other side, those fighting the military, the rebel group Aracan army.

Yolkita D'Rima Meyer reports from Tecnaf in Bangladesh.

The report contains some distressing descriptions.

I'm standing on the Bangladeshi side of the Naf River.

This is the border between Bangladesh and Myanmar in this part of the country.

And across on the other side, I can see Myanmar's Rakhine State, specifically the

Mongor town. That's where we know there have been violent attacks against Rohingya

Muslims in recent months.

Several of them have told us that they are being attacked by the ethnic rebel group, the Arakin

Army.

But what we're specifically looking into is an incident which took place on the 5th of

August where we're told by many eyewitnesses and survivors that potentially as many as 200 Rohingya Muslims were killed

by drone strikes and other bombs. Every day at least four or five boatloads of Rohingyas are arriving here.

They come in the dead of the night so that they are not arrested by Bangladeshi security forces who might send them back.
