I was just in Las Vegas over the weekend. I left on Saturday this terrible mass shooting occurred Sunday night a day later.

I am speechless when I see and hear the accounts of some of the survivors of this.

What they went through would be it's just horrific beyond words it is appalling and now we are forced to look at this and ask questions about how and why and what could have been done to stop it.

Why did a deranged maniac who was a retired accountant, a Stephen Patek, 64 years old.

He was a known gambler, a retired accountant, a guy who lived in Mesquite and was just somebody that never got up on police radar, had no criminal history, what could force or bring, what could bring an individual like this.

What could bring an individual to do something so terrible and we have no real answers right now we have no sense of why anyone would do such a thing open fire on a country music festival.

Killed so many people ruined so many lives and it's just there's no discussion to be had right now that feels in any way like it's putting pieces back together it's just not possible to come away from a situation like this to see what happened in Las Vegas and feel like there's much of a different way.

Of a takeaway there's much that we can say we would do to stop this in the future this level of evil this kind of wanton cruelty has always existed but in our modern era where people are able to broadcast in real time these atrocities it brings us that much closer into it.
