All right, we're following two deadly mass shootings this morning, one in Australia and one in Providence, Rhode Island.

We start this hour in Providence. Officials are about to give an update, and we will bring that to you as it happens.

But two people have been killed, nine injured, when a gunman opened fire on the campus of Brown University yesterday. Seven of the

injured are in stable condition. One is critical but stable and one has been discharged from the

hospital. Local law enforcement say they've detained a person of interest, a male in his 30s,

who was seen in this video, dressed in all black. Now the FBI director, Cash Patel says he was detained in a hotel room

in Coventry based off a lead by Providence law enforcement. Several students were forced to shelter

in place for hours during the shooting. The 23-year-old graduate student, Jack DePrimo, was one of those

students. He hit in a dorm bathroom for a total of five hours. Oh, hang on, I'm going to

take a break and just listen to the actual press conference going on. We'll continue in a moment.

We're also joined by Senator Jack Reed and Congressman Gabe Amo, and we will hear from Senator Jack

throughout this incident over the last day. And as both the governor and I have said on multiple

occasions, the amount of federal resources and cooperation that we've received is extraordinary.
