Welcome back for Part 2 with Dan Ariely, the behavioral economist who believes we're living in a time of ever decreasing trust,

0:06.8

and that that breakdown in trust is going to have massive negative implications for our lives.

0:11.8

In this part, Dan and I go deeper into how we inoculate ourselves from believing falsehoods,

0:17.1

falling into groupthink, or just plain failing to realize that we think emotionally instead of rationally.

0:22.6

Mastering your mind is one of the most important things you can do if you want to be successful in life.

0:27.6

So open a nap and take some notes because it's time for part two with Dan Ariely.

What are we trying to do?

0:41.6

Because this is measurable.

And we're either hitting it or we're not hitting it.

0:44.7

If we're not hitting it, then we have to do something new.

So some things, some things you're absolutely right.

But there's something that are

0:54.8

low hanging fruit so for example again we know very little about education but one of the things we know

1:01.0

is that the differences between good schools and not so good schools are less about what the kids

1:06.1

learn during the year and what more about what they forget in the summer, right? Kids who have an

1:12.6

amazing environment and summer camps and homes that they teach them don't forget much in the

1:18.3

summer, maybe they even learn, and kids that come from impoverished neighborhoods forget a lot

1:23.4

in the summer. Once you understand this, you say, let's move to them to something like the KIP

1:29.3
