hey emily great to be here great to be back on mass have it's been a tough week in Washington. Yeah.

Our leaders came under attack.

Whips Galise and Met Micah and Zach Barth and Officer Crystal Griner were shot by a madman on Wednesday morning.

Many of us heard that news in our commute to work.

And so our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their family.

Everybody that was a victim of this attack really has a new part of their history.

And certainly it demonstrates the real sacrifice that is the public service that our political leaders make. Yeah. And I think it has a little bit closer home here in DC, too,

just knowing how much we love our softball teams during the summer and baseball is always a big thing.

So, yeah, it was definitely a heavy week last week. But we responded in true American fashion, in my view.

I don't know if anybody out there listening caught the baseball game.

It was broadcast on C-SPAN, but most of the major networks cut in throughout the evening.

Huge crowd out there for the congressional baseball game.

Raucous applause when the PA system there at Nats Park, Nat Stadium mentioned Wipskales and Matt Micah.

And, of course, Zach Barth was there on the field.

You know, it's just one of those things that makes you feel proud to being American.

That's the way we respond to tragedies like that.

Yeah, it was a great game.

So the agenda moves on in Washington.

I think that's how to phrase it here, although it's rather stalled.

We woke up this morning to a headline that August recess may be canceled. Oh, man. Do you think it all
