The report is in, the FBI's annual report on active shooters for last year. The numbers are not good.

There's an alarming 52.5% increase in active shootings, and there are many, many more casualties.

The FBI designated 61 shootings as active shooter incidents last year.

103 people were killed, 140 wounded.

These casualties represent almost a 50% increase over the previous year.

The number of active shooter incidents for 2021 also represents almost 97% increase from 2017, just five years ago.

This campaign encourages media, law enforcement, and public information officers to shift their focus from the perpetrators of active shooter incidents toward the victims, survivors, and heroes who stop them, as well as the communities that come together to help in the healing process.
