Bring out the bad guy. Is that what the UFC are doing right now?

Mason Jones, back to back. Listen, second stint the UFC, but back to back, he's going to play the heel this time in Paris this weekend.

You love it.

Yeah, the last one, it really helped.

It was just sort of relief because when everyone expects you to fail and everyone wants you to fail,

all is left to do is prove everyone wrong.

So it was just a bit like, ah, just go out some fun.

And I did.

And this one is going to be something special.

When you walked in Des Moines, you talk about everybody wanted you to fail.

Obviously everybody inside the arena because he was a local man, local hero.

Was it bigger than that? Because you'd come out of the UFC, did you hear whispers, did your circle get smaller when you came out of the UFC? Were people starting to doubt you now in your own hometown? I didn't hear whispers. There wasn't the whispers. Everything was spoken above board. I was told I was a failure. I was told I'd let people down. I was told that I was an embarrassment. It's just everything you get used to.

For me, it was just, that was my tribulation. That was my, my stress point. That was the thing that sort of, I was like, I need to pivot, I need to work harder. And it's not just to prove people wrong. I knew where I was. I knew what I wanted to do. I had four fights in the UFC and I screwed every single one of them up. I screwed my debut. I didn't get that win even though I could have and I would have and this and that. I didn't. I poked Alan Patrick in the eye. I beat Onama with so much going on and behind the scenes. I was so injured. And then I had the fight against Ludwig Klein and everything was perfect. Everything. My prep was perfect. But instead just going in there with right, just get the W, secure it, be smart, technical.

I was like, I'm going to fly in triangle him, I'm going to fly it through this,

I'm going to be the new superstar and I went out there.

And I absolutely ruined it.

And then the fallout from that was bad bad and I had some I work a lot

with mental health charity I worked a lot with them I went to see their counselors

I went to see some therapists I worked on some stuff I closed my circle off I lost a lot

of friends a lot of family it was it was tough but not to be pay the pity game because for me it just makes you work harder.
