I was at a recent Warhol Film Festival, and when I was there to my delight, I discovered

two of the people who were involved with Warhol in the making of films who've

been for a long time culture heroes of the underground for me. One of them, Ronald

Taville, had been the founder of the theater of The Ridiculous, later known as the

playhouse of the Ridiculous, later known as the Playhouse of the Ridiculous.

He was the screenwriter for the Warhol films, Chelsea Girls and vinyl and Kitchenette, among others.

And he was with plays like Gorilla Queen and Indira Gandhi's Daring Device and the life of Juanita Castro, which he also directed for Warhol, a real hero to me of the possibilities inherent in the bizarre, the peculiar, and its intersection with the world.
