The increasingly authoritarian rule of the Trump regime is changing the way history is being taught in America.

A recent morning consult poll found that 53% of teachers kindergarten through 12th grade nationwide, quote, report having had to modify their curricula or class discussion topics because of political pressure, unquote. This is a sharp increase from the

same poll last year. So far, 20 states have passed laws restricting lessons on race, gender,

and American history in the last five years. But the truly unprecedented change we're seeing

in this year's curriculum, censorship around the Constitution.

The nonpartisan civics education group, I-Civics, found a 28% drop in lessons on core

constitutional principles, particularly, and not accidentally, discussions about the limits

of executive power. Now, why would the Trump regime be interested in limiting discussions of executive power

as it is defined in the Constitution?

Well, because they are authoritarian who do not believe there should be any limits on executive

power.

And unfortunately, for us, the corrupt illegitimate to

majority of the Supreme Court agrees with them and is trying to make it a real thing that the

executive has no limits whatsoever. It is very troubling, however, that our children are going to

be taught that that is okay.

Censoring education isn't new, but Adam Latt, Binghamton University's historian on education,

told the New York Times, quote, never before has this kind of fervor from the right owned the Oval Office, unquote.

These shifts are not just occurring in red spaces.

Brown University administrators shut down its choices program after allegations of anti-Israel

bias.

The program provided a cutting-edge history curriculum to over 8,000 schools throughout the country, and its
