My mother was born in Queens.

I grew up thinking my mother was Scottish.

She told me she was Scottish.

But the fact is that her parents immigrated from Scotland to the States in the 1930s. They came for the Depression, and then when

they didn't get enough of the Depression, that's when they went back to Scotland, where the

depression continued for even longer than it was in America. So I couldn't believe it to think of my mother

with a Queens accent, which she never had. But I think she was three or four, maybe seven when they

left Queens, where I believe my grandfather was a, he was working for the building that they lived in.

I think he was the superintendent for the building in Queens that they

moved into. So my mother, much like Mary Trump, born in Queens. I'm David DeKovny, and this is
