Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018. It is also a great feast day for us. It is the feast day of Mary's queenship.

Now this week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have once again been talking about Mary,

but we've been talking about things that she has been doing since she entered heaven.

We've been talking about why it is okay and good to pray to Mary.

And also yesterday we talked about our greatest Marian prayer, which is the rosary. Have you found

your rosary yet? If not, keep looking for it. Today, we are going to talk about how Mary the

great queen of heaven has not forgotten about us here on earth. Mary is very active on earth,

actually. She helps us. She comes to us when we need her. And sometimes she does that in a very

real way. Today we are going to talk about Marian apparitions. Marian apparitions.

Now that simply means times that Mary has come and appeared to people here on earth. The times when Mary has come and appeared here on earth,

she usually has something to tell us, and she almost always has something that she wants us to do.

There are three Marian apparitions that we are going to talk about this week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast.

Today, we are going to start out by talking about the time that Mary appeared to a peasant in Mexico named Juan Diego.

After appearing to Juan Diego, Mary received the great title, Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Now, here is basically what happened to Juan Diego.

Juan Diego was a new Christian in Mexico.

This was a long, long time ago, and most people in Mexico were not Christian,

we're not Catholic. Mary appeared to Juan Diego, and she referred to him as her dearest son,

which is how she would refer to you too. She thinks of each of us as a dear beloved child. In four different

appearances, Mary asked Juan Diego to go to the archbishop and ask him to have a chapel built

for her on that spot. The archbishop didn't know if he should believe Juan Diego.
