We talk about her love of Lord of the Rings, survivor, how she and her husband got married in their carport on Halloween this year.

Mary, hi. I'm so excited to talk to you. I have a million questions.

Happy a season. Obviously, the coolest thing right now. I want to get to that in a second.

Yes.

But let's start at the beginning. I want to hear how you got into comedy. I know you're a huge UCB person.

And so I'm curious how you found yourself in New York, right?

LA. Oh, in LA, yes.

Yes. So I moved to Los Angeles right after college.

drove across the country.

Oh, you did the full drive.

I did.

Yeah, I went to college outside of Chicago. So I drove from there.

And yeah, I actually, one of the first department buildings I lived in was right down the street

from the upright citizens forgate theater in Los Angeles.

Oh, so it was actually a geographic, you know, coincidence there. But I had done some improv in Chicago

while I was in college. And so I was a little familiar with long form improv. But the the UCB and LA

was like two years old at that point. It had been in New York for a long time. But they had just
