Club Festival. And it really is a first. We recorded this episode on stage in front of

a crowd whilst eating afternoon tea no less. Hell of a spectators for that. My guest has

been named the world's most famous classices by some. It's a national treasure to many

and a controversial figure to a few. She is professor of classics at Cambridge University,

has many books on the subject to her name and has written and presented television series

including Pompeii, Life and Death in a Roman Town and Meet the Romans. It is of course

Dame Professor Mary Beard. I did some of those things that you did in the 1970s that we

would found upon sex drugs and rock and roll. Yeah sure. But most of my time in Cambridge,

what I remember is the library actually. Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Welcome
