My co-host, the Amazing Aaron Adams and I, are recording this on Monday, October 28, 2019, and Aaron, I'm kind of shocked that we're still talking about this Martin Scorsese thing.

This is still bubbling up around the internet, even today,

and just the folks have been chiming in like Francis Ford Coala who in the hill house the godfather saga is

constantly plays but yeah he chimed in on October 19th where, you know, he said the movies that Marvel

studios churned out were despicable and it's just sort of like, do you understand this is Disney

who hired you when nobody else would get to direct Captain E. Oh?

Well, it's kind of like a wine kind of sewer, right?

And then all of a sudden, Welch's comes out with a wine and you're like, that's garbage.

Welch's isn't in the wine business, they're in the grape juice business. It's similar, but it's different. And I think you know when you are so louded as a

arture that you get all the the kudos in the world and of course he's going to have an opinion and that's what it is everybody's got an opinion either you like it or you don't it's like okay fine if he doesn't I can totally see why he doesn't get it you know but or not I don't want to say get it but I can see why he's not on board with it.

Just a day or so after this broke, Pete Ramsey, the co-director of Spider-Man into the

Spider-verse, tweeted out that Copla had caught his screening

of Sunny Pictures animation into the Spider-Verse.

And, you know, he said that Francis was very complimentary when he came to that Marvel movie and really appreciate its interventions and animated performances.

So when it comes to Marvel, it's not so cut and dried. And I think that's the thing that people

seem to be wanting to be, you know, take a black and white position here.

And I think as you just said, it's isn't a lot more nuanced than that.

Maybe he only saw Dark Phoenix as his viewing material, or you know, like he didn't get the

right movies out of the bunch. Maybe he just went with a bad crowd, who knows, but yeah, it's his opinion and he makes, you know, a different style of movie.
