The podcast that discusses the most recent doings at one of the more dynamic divisions of the Walt Disney

company and that is of course Marvel Entertainment. My co-host the amazing

Ernie Adams and I are recording this on Tuesday October 15th, which means that it's nearly been a year now since we lost

Stan Lee. Stan passed away back on November 12th of last year and in the past 11 months a lot of Marvel fans have been asking well when is

Disney gonna do something of size they did a couple of act in a full- ads in the trends and of course there was that title sequence that was specially created for Captain Marvel that ran in front of that Marvel Cinematic Universe back in March.

But to talk with folks at the studio,

that was kind of the problem.

Here they were launching this brand new franchise. The first one that Marvel Studios had ever built around a female superhero,

and then right behind that, here comes Endgame.

That's effectively the capper to the infinity saga or with again okay so

Spider-Man Homecoming is the actual the capper to the series but in both cases there's a lot of time a lot of effort a lot of money

involved in putting these two films out the door and if you talk with folks at Disney

they didn't want to necessarily do anything that would depress ticket sales, and the fear was that if we make too big a deal about Stan being gone, maybe people will be too sad to go to Captain Marvel or Avengers Endgame, which that was also supposedly another aspect of why

Disney didn't necessarily turn a key immediately on a Stan Lee tribute because Stan was 95 when we lost him and a lot of the folks that he worked with at Marvel are of similar age.

And so the notion of asking a lot of people who are in their 60s, 70s, 80s to drop everything and come to a tribute,

it's not a good thing.

So what they decided to do was, well, look, you know know we know we have New York comic con coming up in October of 2019

Doors a Walt Disney company and we have access to several theaters in New York City, and why don't we do something on October 7th,

literally the day after of the 2019 edition of Comic Con ends and people will still be in town or if we we
