doings at one of the more dynamic divisions of the Walt Disney Company, which is, of course,

Marvel Entertainment. This is Entertainment writer Jim Hill and my co-host, the amazing Aaron

Adams and I are recording this week's episode on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023, which by the way,

on this very same day, August 2nd 1962, that's when Loki actually made his debut in Marvel Comics.

He made his first appearance in Journey into Mystery Number 85 and when we first met Loki,

he was trapped inside a tree. He'd been put there by the Asgardians and evidently he makes a

leaf drop while Hemdale is walking by the tree, which caused Hemdale to shed a tear and that's

what frees Loki and that's why we have this character today. Honestly, be amazed Jim,

I mean the exact same thing happened to me just a couple of weeks ago. I was stuck in a tree,

I made a leaf fall, somebody cried about it, bingo, bingo, I'm out free again. It's more common

than you would expect. I learned so many things on this show. Okay, but again, you know,

face that Loki has become a favorite since 62. In fact, that certainly came home with the release

yesterday of the season two trailer for the Loki limited series and Disney was trumpeting today

that just in the first 24 hours, it broke for your ship records for the subscription streaming

service over 80 million online views. And not to believe in the obvious here, but I think one of

the other reasons that Disney is trumpeting that a Marvel limited series, you know, people are

really excited. They watch the trailer a lot is boy, the numbers that have been coming in for the,

I guess series finale for Secret Invasion. Not good, not good. Well, do you think the Loki trailers

release had anything to do with the fact that Secret Invasion didn't light the world on fire?

Did they suddenly kind of go, oh no, it didn't go gangbusters and people aren't raving about it.

What do we got cooking in the kitchen guys? Can we can we release anything now? Did they,
