Welcome to Marvelist's Need, the podcast that discusses the most recent doings of one of the more dynamic divisions of the Walt Disney company, which is of course Marvel entertainment.

I guess so. I didn't actually expect it to be a thing, but then people start sending me like little calendar reminders of like they're getting ready to attend.

So then I figured, oh, well, if they're going to do it, I'll might as well check in at 7.13 since we're going to be here recording.

I mean, we might as well just peep over at 7.12 and see what happens at 7.13 and see if we can get five full people to participate in our flash mob.

Okay, so all right, you've said of the premise and we are, if we're synchronizing watches here, I've got 706. So we'll get started with the news segment and then duck out in six minutes to see what's going on.

Okay, so again, and then I recording this on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, which is four weeks and five days since Spiderman, no way home arrived in theaters on December 17.

So I don't know if you saw her in, but this past weekend that John wants him was finally nudged out of the number one spot by the screen reboot, which gave you this past Friday and this paramount pictures production sold 30.6 million dollars with the tickets during its first three days in North America and during that same three days Spiderman, no way home only sold 20.8 million.

But if you take that amount and add it to how that Columbia picturesome has done so far in the North American territory, it is now in fourth place in the the intercedes list of the highest grossing films of all time.

And again, that's so that what's single territory for the North America, so that 698 million point seven just size 100 million and then right now there are only three other films ahead of Spiderman in the domestic box office we've got games Cameron's Avatar 670 million back in 2010 or there was we've got the vendors endgame that's 858 million.

And then finally Star Wars Episode 7 the Force Awakens, which is 936 million and the last three films that I just mentioned have not been adjusted for inflation, but the current thinking is that no way home has a pretty good shot at surpassing Avatar's box title before that John Watts film then becomes available as a video on demand title out February 28.

But that said, it still has to sell 62 million worth of tickets in North America over the next six weeks, but is potentially doable so by this point, Spiderman will be out of theaters, but morbias living vampire comes out April 1st, here's what you do, you do a triple feature of venom, let there be carnage, which ends with the spider man, the licking of the TV screen, right.

And then you do spider man, no way home, which ends with the carnage or with venom at the bar button, and then you do morbias, which has multiple links back to venom.

So there you go, you do a triple feature and that way people that are excited to see morbias and the spunk universe unfold like a beautiful little flower, I got a reason to go back in and watch spider man one more time on a cheap ticket.

It is a really weird bend on reality, venom, let there be carnage actually did go back into theaters this past Friday. Sony did this because the exhibitors were upset that morbias had been pushed back from January 28 to April 1st, and so, you know, it's like look a screen with something on it is better than a blank screen.

There's just no way that spider man, no way home, even with what we were talking about just on the last week show about you, the potential awards season run, there's just no way they're going to close the gap to equal the box office total for avengers and game or force awakens.
