Welcome to Marvelous Disney, the podcast that discusses the most recent doings at one of the more

dynamic divisions of the Walt Disney Company, which is of course Marvel Entertainment. This is

Entertainment writer Jim Hill and my co-host, the amazing Aaron Adams and I are recording this

week's episode on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, which means that the two of us have at some point

today seen episode six of Miss Marvel. Have we heard yet? Is this the season finale or the series

finale? I would guess by that end credits scene that we haven't seen the last of Kamala.

It really depends. I think they're just going to sit there and look at numbers for a while and

and see if, you know, what the audience was and what the makeup of the audience was.

And then take a look at what the internet is saying. Is it positive? Is it negative?

And there are things, you know, the decisions you make are full steam ahead with the sequel,

the follow-up series, or it could be a movie, but we've already got the Marvels lined up,

so that would lead me to think we should go back to series after the Marvels. Or you cancel it

altogether, right? And so it's, I think it's just a matter of what the numbers say and then after

that, you know, if it's a close call, what is the internet buzz, positive, negative, otherwise?

Of course, this past weekend, we also had Thor, Love and Thunder arrive in theaters,

and if we're talking strictly box office, this Taikawa TD movie made $143 million. That's

the third highest opening weekend in North America for all of 2022. So, story just today was about

how this coming weekend, Thor domestically will blow past $200 million at the box office.

Now, numbers great. On the other hand, what was fascinating, at least for me over this past weekend,

was the number of people who clearly loved Thor Ragnarok and came back to, oh, Taiko went too far

this time. Too silly. It was all over the place, tone wise, and the online community give us

in the online community take it the way. Do they now remember Thor Dark World? Does that not
