Hi, I'm Zia Anderson from Marvel Movie News here with Marvel News Daily. Disney has started an Oscar campaign for Avengers Endgame with an official awards page and everything.

And what? Robert Downey Jr.'s name is not on it!

Look, not much makes me cry,

but seeing Robert Downey Jr. in that film,

most notably his death scene had me bawling.

And Joe Russo agrees, telling The Daily Beast,

I just want to stump for one thing, and that's Robert Downey.

I don't know if I have ever seen in movie history a global audience reactor performance

the way that they did to Robert Downey in that movie.

There were people bawling in movie theaters, hyperventilating.

I mean, that is a profound performance.

When you can touch audiences all over the world to that degree, we've never seen anything like that.

And if that doesn't deserve an Oscar, I don't know what does.

Well said, Joe, those are my sentiments exactly. It seems Martin Scorsese might not agree and is not much of a Marvel movie fan in general.

When asked if he's ever seen a Marvel movie, he said, quote, I tried, you know, but that's not cinema. He even went so far as to compare them to theme parks,

saying it isn't the cinema of human beings

trying to convey emotional psychological experiences

to another human being.

As much as I love him and his work, I have to disagree.
