Captain Marvel 2 is rumored to be in the works, but it is likely to hit theaters anytime before 2022. But we do have some firm behind-the-scenes information about the film.

Firstly, Megan MacDonald, a staff writer on the upcoming Disney Plus series WandaVision, will write the as-of-yet, untitled sequel.

We're also hearing that their directors for the first Captain Marvel, Anna Bodden, and Brian Fleck, will not be returning for this film.

But Marvel reportedly has another project in mind for them.

Meanwhile, a major role in the MCU could be coming up for a Starfleet captain with

Michelle Yeo reportedly in talks for an undisclosed role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the

Ten Rings, which would bring her back to the MCU.

She would be a different character than in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 where she made a cameo as Aleta O'Gord, one of the members of Yandu's original team.
