Summary

The Nats had another 9th inning rally that came up short in Saturday afternoon's 4-3 loss to the Marlins. Mark & Al have a lot to react to after the 7th consecutive defeat and give blunt assessments on the State of the Rebuild. (11:45) Davey Martinez made an empassioned plea about his coaching staff in his postgame press conference. Martinez made news by saying "It's never on the coaches" in response to a question by the Washington Post. Did Davey throw his players "under the bus" within his postgame comments? (21:00) Mark asked veteran Josh Bell for his response to the comments by Martinez. The hosts examine his answer that seemed to not include a direct show of support. (25:00) Washington trailed 4-1 entering the bottom of the 9th and came 90 feet shy of tying the game. Jacob Young was brought in as a pinch-runner, but questionably did not tag from 3rd on Amed Rosario's flyout to LF. Important to keep in mind that James Wood was on-deck in the situation. (31:10) Trevor Williams had a solid outing and allowed only a pair of Miami runs. Williams has made 14 starts this season and his ERA sits at 5.71. (33:40) Luis Garcia Jr. made a crucial error in the top of the 8th when he dropped a seemingly routine fly ball. His poor defense this season is put under the microscope as he ranks among the worst 2Bs thus far. (39:30) MacKenzie Gore takes the mound on Father's Day afternoon to try and end the team's skid. Gore currently trails only Boston's Garrett Crochet for the most strikeouts in MLB.
