My name is Emma Vigeland, in for Sam Cedar, and this is the five-time award-winning Georgia report.

We are broadcasting not so much live.

It's pre-taped steps from the industrially ravaged Gwansk Canal in the heartland of America downtown Brooklyn, USA.

It is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

And so we will be doing our special MLK show.

And that contains a variety of really amazing historical audio segments.

We will be beginning, and this is just the sequencing for this for you today.

And we should say, we will be back live on YouTube for our normal show on Tuesday, streaming on all platforms, etc.

But today we're honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

And we're going to be playing a series of, as I mentioned, excellent historical audio segments.

First, we'll be starting with a previously unheard speech from Martin Luther King Jr. on reparations, white economic anxiety and guaranteed income.

I'm sure if you're listening to this program you're aware, but in the later parts of his life,

King was increasingly radicalized along class lines, pushing for anti-poverty measures aggressively, and also as an anti-war activist,

as the Vietnam War was ramping up and lingering.

Those are the parts of his history that need to be emphasized just as much as the rest of the more common knowledge.
