Summary

The Thinking Fellows are joined by Todd Hains to discuss the concept of the Rule of Faith as articulated by Martin Luther. Todd explains the significance of the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, and the Lord's Prayer in shaping Christian doctrine and practice. The discussion delves into how these elements serve as a catechetical foundation for both preaching and personal faith, emphasizing their role in guiding believers in their interpretation of Scripture and their relationship with God.

Today, I am joined by Scott Keith and by Todd Haynes, a guest on the Thinking Fellows podcast. I know that

1:16.7

some of our listeners and definitely some of the contributors at 1517 know Todd. Todd is a publisher

1:23.5

at Lexham Press. You're an editor. Are you, I knew that your title was once

1:29.3

academic editor, Todd. Is it still that? Or have you been upgraded or downgraded?

1:34.3

I'm an associate publisher of acquisitions in development, but I do the editing stuff too,

1:39.4

and I still like that. I mean, I go pillared post, though, on audience. So kids' books, pastor stuff,

Thank you. So, especially the children's books are pretty excellent for that. And they're presented in a way that people do not necessarily think that it's like the Creed's, for instance, as a great example. 2:36.5

Thank you.

2:37.5

I think there's a big interest in the creed these days.

2:40.9

I don't know what it is in the last decade or so in particular that people are just, oh, this sounds awesome.

2:47.6

Let's go for it.

2:49.5

Where did this come from?

3:09.2

Did you see, I think I had them send this. Did you see the one that comes up? I did. I got the morning and evening prayer. Yeah. Also, clever again, Luther's morning and evening prayer in there. Yeah. I thought it was very good. Yeah. So I did just get that in the mail. All right. I'm glad to talk about the creed a little bit today. Because we, I've been meaning to have Todd on for a little bit.

Todd published a book not with his own publishing house, but with IVP. If I'm correct,
