Hello and welcome to the Byron New York Show, the No Chip Chat podcast. We like to get right

into it and what we're going to get into today is the Martha's Vineyard Freakout and something

a little more specific than just the Martha's Vineyard Freakout. It's the fact that the Martha's Vineyard

Freakout is ignoring the real problem. That's what we're going to talk about. Now you know

that much of the nation's political and commentary class had a near nervous breakdown

when 48 Venezuelans who had crossed illegally into the United States arrived at the Martha's Vineyard

Airport, which is not far from the summer homes of some of the country's wealthiest and best

connected people. Now when they realized what had happened, many Democrats and their allied

voices in the media expressed, I don't know, white hot anger at Ron DeSantis, the Republican

governor of Florida, who had arranged the migrants trip. Now meanwhile, for their part,

residents volunteered to feed and care for the migrants for 24 hours after which the National

Guard whisked them off the exclusive island. So that's what happened. Go 2,200 miles west and south

to Del Rio, Texas. During the 24-hour period from Saturday to Sunday, that's while this whole

Martha's Vineyard Freakout was going on in the media during the 24-hour period. From Saturday

to Sunday, this is according to reporting by Bill Malujan, the Fox News correspondent, 24-hour

period. Saturday to Sunday, Border Patrol officers encountered 1,707 illegal crossers in the

Del Rio sector. That's a 245-mile sector of the U.S.-Mexico border. And a little to the west

in the El Paso sector, they encountered even more illegal crossers, 1,967. And a little further west
