0:00.0	When Manling Williams ran from her home screaming for help, neighbors came to her aid and called
0:05.7	911. When authorities arrived on the scene, they found Manling's husband and children inside
0:12.4	the home dead, and the distraught woman claimed she had just come home and found them that way.
0:18.3	It didn't take investigators long to realize that nothing manling was telling them was true. This is Southern California to parents of Chinese descent.

1:33.5	After high school, Manling started working at a local subway restaurant where she met a co-worker named Neil Williams.
1:36.1	Neil was born on May 19, 1980, and also grew up in Southern California.

1:46.8	of topics and could spend hours in thoughtful conversation with people. He started dating
1:52.6	Manling and Neil told his mother that he enjoyed the conversations they had. It wasn't long before
1:59.2	Manling was pregnant and their first son, Devin, was born in July of 2000.
2:05.0	Having a child out of wedlock only added to the strain on her relationship with her parents.
2:10.9	They kicked her out of the house and Manling spent time living with either a friend or with Neil's mother.
2:17.2	Neil and Manling eventually got married at the
2:19.4	courthouse, but ended up having a ceremony at a Taiwanese church soon after. Neal started working
2:26.4	in sales, and Manling was a server at a Marie Callender's restaurant. They moved into a condo in
2:32.3	Rowling Heights, just east of Los Angeles.
2:35.8	Their second son, Ian, was born in the fall of 2003, and to everyone on the outside, they seemed like a happy family.
