Today's episode, I'm just going to kind of get right to it because it is such a good one and such an important one with author Liz Lens who recently wrote this American ex-wife,

how I ended my marriage and started my life.

And I don't want to sound too like cryptic and everything and say that this book

really resonates with me because obviously I am still married and Adam and I are always actively

working to make sure that our marriage is as strong as it can be.

And I think that a lot of times it seems like

we're always working on it.

And that's probably because we really care and because it's really hard.

But also I have thought about the other side,

as for those of you who have listened to,

you know, when is it the last straw,

which we put out, I don't know a month and a half ago, maybe I have no idea.

But I have thought about leaving my marriage.

I have thought about what life would look like on the other side more than once when we

started this podcast that was kind of the basis of it was we were sort of almost at

that point and Liz Lens did leave her marriage about 12 years in when she divorced her husband and I think that what she realized when she divorced him was that

Life can be as beautiful or more beautiful on the other side of that when we have sort of been taught opposite, right? That divorce is so terrible and single

motherhood is devastating and all of these things that we have been taught are, um bad and horrible and I think that in the truth of her

living it she has opened up a conversation that is so incredibly important and that

is not happening nearly enough, right?
