And this week the title of the message is,

Marriage is a covenant.

And we want to talk about what it means to be in covenant relationship.

I want to just say a couple of things that I said last week.

Number one, if you're married, don't listen for your spouse. Don't

listen to this message and think to yourself, uh-huh, that's exactly what I've been trying

to tell him. Do not think that.

Especially on this message, because on this message, all the time when I was preparing it and

going through it, I was noticing how many times it would be very easy to say yep if he would do that that would

Because we're talking about marriage and marriage is the relationship on this earth that mirrors our relationship with the Lord.

Now, let's review for a moment. What is a contract?

In a contract, when we enter into a contract, we enter into that contract to protect our rights

and to limit our responsibilities.

In other words, if you're going to sell your home

or you're going to buy a business or you're going to do some transaction

and you have a contract, you enter into that contract to protect your rights and to limit your responsibilities.

Marriage will not work in a contract form.
