This is Adam Griffin, and I'm back for Season 8, Episode 1 of Season 8, here with my wife,

0:19.8

Delight of My Life. Ms. Chelsea Lane Griffin, Chelsea, how are you today? I'm so good. Good. It's fun. I don't know that we've ever done an episode where just you and I are talking. Have we interviewed guests just the two of us? Yeah. Is this what the people need? This, I don't know if they need more of you. Every place I go, they need more of you. We meet

0:38.5

people who are listeners and are like, hey, Adam, it's so nice to meet you. Also, Chelsea's my favorite. I'm like, well, that's rude. Like, I love that they love you, but why do they feel the need to tell me that you're better? There's no way that's happened. It literally happened just a few days ago. In your imagination?

0:52.3

In your presence.

0:53.4

I didn't hear it.

0:54.5

Well, they should have said it louder then.

0:56.8

Because I'm delighted.

0:57.8

I agree with them. Yeah, because I appreciate all kinds of fanfares. So I think I would have. You would have noticed? Yeah, I would have noticed. Well, they like you better. And rightly so. There is actually another recent listener story that I didn't tell you yet. One of our east side listeners, somebody who goes to church with us who listens to the podcast, came up to me a couple weeks ago and said they won our W2 beef raffle. Do you remember this? Our WT beef was our sponsor who sent us a bunch of meat. And they're so kind and a great sponsor, still supporting them, WT Beef, if you need some beef shipped right to your door.

1:28.4

Anyway, this listener told me they won the raffle and it was right when her husband had lost his job. And so the Family Disciped Shopping Podcast supported them with food that bridged the gap until her husband found a new job. Isn't that incredible? Yeah, that's amazing. And, you know, it's great beef. It is great beef.

1:42.8

Yeah.

1:43.5

Yeah.

1:43.8

So they had like fajitas with steaks on the side, you know, for a couple weeks and then...

1:47.1

Yeah.

1:47.5

Good to go. It's the Lord's beef. Truly. Yeah. The Lord provides. Well, I thought before we jump into our topic and introduce the topic for the season, we could do a real quick kind of state of the family, stay of the podcast. We are, Cassie will be on

2:01.4

almost every episode this season. This is not like a new world of the podcast where it's just Chelsea and I, as much as Chelsea and I delight in each other's presence. It's really fun to have our friend Cassie on, don't you agree? Oh, God, we need Cassie. Yeah, what do we do without her? I mean, the awkward silences between us.

2:15.7

Yeah.

2:16.0

We'd end up just looking deep into each other's eyes

2:17.9

and people would record sounds of our kind of delight, but no one's interested in that. Yeah. Yeah. It's weird. Very weird. Yeah. Cassie makes it better. Yeah. She really does. It's great to have a friend on the podcast. So Cassie would be on with us next episode as we start breaking down some of the topics we're going to introduce today. We got a lot of stuff going on for the Griffin family right now, state of the state of the family. We had a child turn 13, did a big write of passage ceremony for them. This is a beautiful kind of family discipleship moment for our family, milestone for our family. Maybe we can break down that on the podcast sometime. And one of our children got baptized.

2:52.1

Big time. Which is, you know, I've gotten texts from several dads just saying, what was that like? Dads of young kids going like, what did it feel like to have your child get baptized? And I'll tell you, you know, as much as we prayed for it, hoped for it, sought it. I hope the Lord would do it.

3:05.5

It was even better.

3:06.8

I just loved it.
