I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the hump day edition of the yard.

It was not a good night in Bulldog Athletics on Tuesday.

We're going to talk about it. We're going to be honest about it.

We're going to be frank about it.

And we're going to get through it.

It's very frustrating. Like many of you, I look forward to

college baseball season all year long. We had a long time to get ready this year because we had

an abbreviated season last year. And what we're seeing on the field right now is not representative

of the tradition of Mississippi State baseball, nor is it in concert with our

expectations for Bulldog baseball. It's simply not. It's just call it for what it is. I'm not going to

sit here and tell you, I think things will be okay. Is it too early to panic? Yeah. Is it too early

to be concerned? Absolutely not. I'm concerned. Like many of you, I'm concerned. Now, as a guy that's

been around baseball his whole life, I'll tell you, you'll find out who you can trust. You'll

find out which pitchers will throw strikes, which guys will compete. Right now, you're working

through that. That's kind of what the non-conference is for, but middle relief pitching for Mississippi

State has been an adventure.

But again, we'll break that all down. Before we get into all of that, I wanted to make a few

comments about the latest controversy with Alabama basketball. I am appalled of how this is

handled. And some would say, well, you know, Steve Covey Your Own School. Well, other people don't do that either. But this is something that it's not just a southeastern

conference issue. It's not just a college athletics issue. It is a societal issue.
