There are those moments in life where you become more aware of time than other times.

In exactly 14 days, I turned 64 and I am so aware of time.

I mean, I don't know why you applied.

All I've done is avoid death, which is no small feat, but I'm glad to still be here.

But every time you creep up on a new birthday, you realize how much we humans mark time.

And my wife came, I'm not allowed to say how old she is, but we were born the same year.

But she was born after me and whenever I have my birthday, she's a year younger than me.

And those are her four favorite months when she can look at me so I'm not that old.

But I'm just a promise of the future, it's either this or die.

So we humans are almost it seems psychologically predisposed to measure everything by time.

I was reading some of the writings of Einstein yesterday and how he was describing

time and space as illusions, as human constructs, and even how this reality that we experience

is a formidable illusion that is hard for us to break.

And I started thinking about how time becomes such a significant way that we count history.

We were just in Malawi and Paschal Josepheth was there and we were in a room with these

Malawi and chiefs and he asked one of the men who looked like he'd been alive for a long time.

And I'm not sure why Joe thought this was appropriate in Malawi culture,
