Today's Fed rate decision headlines a busy news day as the U.S. and. strike a $42 billion technology deal. House Republicans move to

shield Trump's tariffs and workday gets a boost from Elliott Management.

The U.K. and U.S. have agreed to a landmark $42 billion technology pack called the Tech Prosperity

deal. This deal marks President Trump's second state visit to Britain.

Top U.S. tech names led by Microsoft, Nvidia, and Google pledged a total of 31 billion pounds or

$42 billion in UK investments, primarily targeting AI, quantum computing, and nuclear energy advancements.

The UK's prime minister said the deal marks a generational step change in their relationship

with the U.S., shaping the futures of millions of people on both sides of the Atlantic,

and delivering growth, security, and opportunity up and down the country.

Microsoft unveiled a plan to spend $30 billion in the UK over four years,

with half of the amount going towards cloud computing and AI infrastructure.

NVIDIA said it would deploy 120,000 graphics processing units across Britain,

its largest rollout in Europe to date.

And Google announced plans to open a new data center as part of a two-year five-billion-pound

investment in the UK. Washington and London also agreed to cooperate on nuclear and space

technology as part of the tech prosperity deal. The agreement offers quicker regulatory

approval and several new private sector investment partnerships for nuclear plants.

Almost all House Republicans voted to pass a measure that essentially shuts down challenges

to President Trump's tariff declarations through March of next year.

The measure was passed in the form of a rule with a 213 to 211 vote.
