Well, the DNC really had a lot of momentum.

I mean, I suppose the challenge is much momentum going in.

I think a well-produced convention, it seemed. We'll get to Perry Russum's take on things

from ABC News here in just a second. But they stuck the landing, I would suggest, last night. I mean,

regardless of where you sit party-wise or in terms of any political affiliation, I think you have to respect a well-produced

event that took place over four days and tried to capitalize on that momentum. But here's the

but. The challenge is to take that party and that momentum that you had prior and during. And as I say,

I would suggest was amplified during that four days and carry it beyond. So with that preamble,

let's go to Perry Russell with ABC News to talk more about what happened over the last four days.

What are the takeaways from the DNC? Hi, Perry.

How are you? Yeah, it really felt like the start of a new chapter for the Democratic Party turning the page on President Biden.

There was new tone, new message, new direction for the party. And really instead of this race, just being about trying to stop Trump and what they say is a threat to democracy. That's what President Biden

was talking about when he was on top of the ticket. This felt more of like paving a new path forward

with one about possibility and joy, which is a word we kept hearing during the week. And we also

saw a unifying at the Democratic Party with different generations of leaders speaking and

supporting Harris. We saw former presidents, young governors and members of Congress.

And then Republicans, too, who were pushing back on Trump. And there was also a call for action, a call for

action to vote, not getting comfortable in thinking that this race is over.
