So I check Twitter from time to time to see what's trending,

see if there's any hot topics out there breaking news that I should mention on this show

when I fill in from Mr. Simone.

And the top trending topic right now is RIP Mr. President, which at first glance,

you would think, oh boy, is that pertaining to the current occupant in the Oval Office?

Then you realize once you open up some of the stories that today, believe it or not, is the 60th

anniversary of the JFK assassination in Dallas.

I'm writing a book right now called Not Your Daddy's Donkeys, and it talks about how the

Democratic Party has gone from one very different place to another almost unrecognizable place.

And I studied the Kennedy presidency, and you want to talk about a guy who

basically would win the Republican nomination at this point. You know, Trump wasn't running anyway.

I mean, he cut taxes. I mean, aggressively cut taxes. He was pro-military, big time. He didn't

believe in racial quotas.

John F. Kennedy, to this day, is the most popular president of the modern era since they

started doing polling. He averaged 70% approval until his assassination 22 November, 1963.

So, anyway, the book will be out next year, and I'll be happy to share. But in the meantime, go read about the Kennedy presidency sometime because he was as much of a centrist, definitely right of center, and no way would ever be nominated for the Democratic Party nomination this year.

That's certainly for sure.
