But if you notice, Stephanopoulos didn't get fired or 60 minutes didn't get fired because their ratings were still good enough. Well, no, actually, their ratings are pretty bad. The case of 60 minutes, it's just such a legendary brand that they have left it out. In the case of Stephanoplas, the guys that run ABC, I don't know why. They still think Stephanoplas is a highly connected guy in washington which

Actually, there was a show at the time called 60 Minutes 2. There was a Wednesday night version of 60 Minutes, and they canceled the show over it.

Rather, not only was broadcasting totally false information, they made up a whole fake

story about Bush growing in AWOL and National Guard.

It wasn't true.

And rather got caught using an actual fake forged document that wasn't real and got fired over it.

You could some call him the grandfather of today's fake news, the founding father of it.
