Most people don't know that the transistor was invented right here at Bell Labs in New Jersey in the 1950s.

And during the 1950s and early 60s, we had our own transistor manufacturers.

There was Fairchild, National Semiconductor, and all of the big

brands, RCA, Sylvania, and so forth. Then, in the 1970s, in the 1980s, and we also had our own

classification system. But what happened in the mid-70s and in the 80s, the Japanese started to

dump semiconductors into this country. Well, Vincent, we don't know how much time, but you've got

a great point. We used to make everything here. Everything was invented here, the transistor. We
