and it was a total mess.

This went on for years, so finally went public about it, and Ed Koch was the mayor at the time,

and they got into a big war about it.

The city was trying to rebuild the skating rink, and they had spent like a hundred million

or some crazy amount, and it was taken seven years

and they announced it could take another seven years and trump really went after cach

because this is absolutely ridiculous the skating rink it's a slab of concrete with a mice on it

it to take a few weeks and And Koch couldn't believe the arrogance

of Trump. So he challenged him publicly. He said, all right, let's see you do it. Let's see you build

that skating rink in a few weeks. Well, he did. It was simple. He's a construction guy.

The city of New York was going to take something like 14 years and spend 100 million.
