You might be hearing about this inflation number.

Ooh, it's only 5%. You know, you're the worst president in history when you're opening champagne bottles and celebrating 5%. It was 1.6% under Donald Trump. And it's not just 5%. That's the overall number, but the economists will look at that

core number underneath, which apparently is trending in the wrong direction. It was 5.5.

Last year, now it's 5.6, so it's not great. Joe Bartlett, do you ever think we'd be celebrating

5% in place? Well, you know, it sounded good when it first came out, but Wall Street is now negative,

so they have digested the news. They're looking at the real numbers. Yeah, because, you know,

we just see the overall number. They look at the core number, to this number, it's like when you

get that jobless number, it's just a number. But then you find out the employment rate,

unemployment rate went down because everybody stopped looking for work. And that's not just a talking point. That's a real number. There's the unemployment number, which is the U1 number. There's a U2, a U3, the U6 number is how many stopped looking for work. But these guys look at all that stuff. Can you imagine doing that all day for a living, being trader working in one of these companies looking at the screen all day well if you do it

well you could probably make some money you get millions but you got to look at like five

bloomberg screens in front of you with all these numbers you remember in math class where you

get such a headache yeah you don't know what the hell they're talking about.

These guys writing this algebra all over a board. I don't know what the hell that says. Imagine that's your whole life looking at stuff like that. Hey, by the way, my algebra teacher from ninth grade, if you're listening, I used to fight with you. And you'd say, you're going to need this one day. You know what? It's a million years later. I didn't need it.
