Now, the big breaking story is the New York carry permit gun law has been overturned by the Supreme Court.

Joe Bartlett, do we have a count of what the vote was in the Supreme Court?

Six to three.

Six to three. So that's a, that's a, that's a, that's a good majority. It's usually not.

Well, that's a conservative, uh, court, yeah.

Now, here's how this works. You got to, you can get a gun permit in New York. What do they

call that? A target permit or something like that where you can own a gun but you can't carry it around. Oh, right, right, right, yeah. Yeah, you have a target permit. You can own the gun. It can only be in your house. The only place you can take it is to arrange to practice with. Now, the most valuable thing to get, which is so hard to get in New York before this, was what they

called the carry permit, which was the permit to carry the concealed gun anytime, anywhere

you want. And supposedly in New York, I mean, it was very, very tough to get a carry permit.

Very tough.

You usually had a show that you were,

let's say you worked in the Diamond District

and that you often carry millions of dollars

with a jewelry on you.

You could use that as an excuse to get a carry permit.

You could show that you've been attacked

or you've been threatened, that kind of stuff.

You had to have real serious reasons why you needed a carry permit to get approved.

And even then, you'd wait a year or two or very tough to get approved.
