So this week, we're here with an excerpt from my upcoming devotional prayers of rest, daily prompts to slow down and hear God's voice. I hope this prayer helps

guide you in God's loving presence today.

Mark, take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving presence

around us and within us.

Today's passage comes from Mark, chapter 10, verse 45.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom

for many.

Recite God's goodness.

Humble Jesus.

How breathtaking is your love.

You let go of heaven's glories and angels ministrations

to become like one of your created beings.

And you came not to sit in a palace, but to serve, and to serve the lowest among us.

What grace, what mercy, what love you have shown us. Thank you, Jesus.

Take a few moments now to recite God's goodness,

praising him for who he is and for what he has done in your own life.

Express your neediness.

Lord Jesus, as I reflect on your humility, my own pride seems grossly out of place.

Forgive me for thinking myself better than my coworkers,

my fellow church co-workers, and my own family members.
