0:50.3	CNN yesterday and one of our health care experts came on and she said it's only a matter of time before Joe Biden gets COVID and people were like shocked but that's the new reality and world we live in is it not?
1:03.0	It really is and you know I think it's to some degree obviously a product of the relaxation of the mask mandates and what have you but I barely know anybody at this point that hasn't gotten it and you know.
1:16.3	Yeah, I mean in relaxation I mean Florida never COVID never was in Florida apparently.
1:23.2	So look we start each one of our episodes

1:31.2	to say, storied in politics. But walk us through the arc of your career from your first
1:35.7	campaigns in Texas to the work you do now and why did you choose politics?
1:40.4	Well it's a pretty accidental journey in many ways. I ran away from home in high school and
1:47.2	hitchhike to Nashville, Tennessee where I wanted to be a songwriter and I lived a pretty well-known musician and Chris Christofferson was very generous to me and let me live in his apartment and kind of hang out at the studio and I did that for several years and then I found out
2:04.8	about a songwriting contest in Texas that I went to in Curville, Texas in 1975 I
2:10.8	won that and they invited me back in 1976.
2:14.0	I discovered Austin in the middle of that and decided that that's where I wanted to be.
2:18.2	So I packed up and moved to Austin in the mid-70s.
