well-deserved day off and joining us in the studio right now i don't know how we found his way here

0:18.8

it's like how did you find your way around the corner of the studio here? I have a car and driver. And security. I saw the four security guys out there. W.O.R.'s own morning co-host, Michael Reedle. Good morning. Michael. What a pleasure to have you in. Ken, good to be with you. You see, when I look for guests to be on this show, I mean, I really go all out. You do. That's right. You go, you go around the corner and knock on my door and say, Jesus, I don't have anybody on the show. Can you help me out? And here I am. Hold it off your back there, Ken. And just for the record, your people told my people six times that you would not appear. So I thank you for being nice enough to come. That's all right. Let's start up by saying I am a big fan. I listen to you guys at least two to three days a week. And the only reason I don't listen five days a week is the other two days I'm sleeping. Otherwise, I would be like because after doing 30 years of mornings myself, you know, it's nice to be able to sleep in. Sometimes Len is sleeping.

Well, see, I'm going to ask, I was going to ask you about that. I love you guys. And I love,

1:21.6

here's what I especially love, the magic that you have together is that you are both political opposites, but you are, there's never animus. There's always a sense of warmth and, too bad everyone who has political opposition in their family can't be that way today.

1:32.6

It's entirely fake. We hate each other. But I think when they put the show together, Tom Cuddy, who runs our station here at W.O.R. I think he had a good sense that people live in silos. So if you're the NPR crowd, all you want to hear is that Donald Trump is a fascist. But if you're the, you know, conservative radio, you want to hear that Kamala Harris is an idiot. Neither of those things is true, although I lean more toward the fact that Kamala Harris is an idiot and that Donald Trump

is a fascist. But the whole point was, and I grew up in the rough and tumble of politics as a kid,

2:06.1

because my best friend growing up in Genesee, New York, I was a Reagan kid. I loved Ronald Reagan

2:11.1

in the 80s. That's why I'm a Republican. And my best friend was a Democrat. We used to have these

2:16.2

knockdown, drag out fights about politics when we were 14, 15, 16 years old.

2:22.0

Never once did we hate each other.

2:25.6

Never once did we want to cancel each other.

2:28.4

Never once did we not remain friends.

2:31.0

And so that I think is the chemistry that Len and I have tried to create on our show.

2:35.0

We can have spirited fights and sometimes they get really spirited. Len is a passionate believer in

2:40.8

certain issues and I'm a passionate believer in other issues. But at the end of the day, you just have to

2:45.8

find out the way to have a good laugh to send you off to the next commercial break so you can come back

2:51.2

and be friends again. Absolutely. And it comes across. You guys, there's never a sense of

2:56.2

anyone being mean to anybody. And that's why it's such a pleasure to listen to the two of you in

3:00.9

the morning. And I'm sure, look, you're broadcasting in New York, so you have lots of people

3:06.0

on Lenside. But then the suburbs and the people
