I've just seen this news break.

Apparently Russia has bombed a children's hospital in Ukraine.

What is Putin thinking?

He's got to be slightly rational.

Doesn't he realize the reputational damage he's doing to himself?

You know, it's a really interesting move because Putin has always had his eye on Ukraine.

His main goal is not to reconstruct the Soviet Union. He doesn't want sort of all of that ideological

and territorial baggage.

But what motivates him, and he's seen this as a critical part of his legacy,

is to reconstitute mother Russia, imperial Russia.

And of course, Ukraine is a critical part of that.

In fact, Vladimir Lenin once said, if we lose Ukraine, we lose our heads.

It's the breadbasket, was the breadbasket of the Soviet Union, has all kinds of

agricultural and other resources.

So Putin sees this as a critical part of his legacy, bringing Ukraine back into the fold.

Now, bombing children's hospitals, going after nuclear plants, that's something that's

kind of out of the range of what you would think a rational actor would be. I don't think Putin is
