This is the, if you watch Mad Men, this was like the other Waldorf, and then all of a sudden it's a migrant shelter.

What's the latest?

Well, you know, let me say this about the Roosevelt, before the migrants, before all the current stuff.

I never stayed there. I don't know anybody who stayed there,

but the ground floor of that hotel was,

it was charming.

It was like a time trip back to the 1940s,

the check-in area, the bar.

It really was atmospheric,

and almost all those atmospheric old hotels are gone,

demolished or modernized or whatever.

So it's a pity.

But who knows?

So the migrants are going to be moved out because the city has fewer migrants than it did a year ago.

And the city's contract with the owners of the hotel, which is an arm of the Pakistan government, $220 million a year,

their contract had an exit ramp. They could get out of the lease with four months notice. And

that's what's happening now. The mayor announced this, I guess, two weeks ago.

It looks as if the city will be completely out of the hotel by June.

And it has been quietly on the market through JLL, a bill of estate brokerage.

And for some time, they couldn't really do anything with it

because, you know, the migrants were there, and no one knew for sure how long it would be

before the government of Pakistan had the ability to sell the hotel again.
