Well, let's turn now to the dean, the greatest political analyst, Ed Rollins.

You know, this guy's run a lot of campaigns, including the most successful campaign in history, Reagan's re-election, won 49 states.

Could have won the 50th, but they were trying to be nice to Mondale.

An amazing track record.

Ed Rollins, how you doing?

Many years ago, Mark, many years ago.

The world's a different place today.

Yeah, explain.

Oh, I think if I had Reagan, I could win again.

Yeah, but think about that. Reagan said, you know what, let Mondale win his own state. Mondale was a very nice man, a very gentle man. What the hell happened? Where do we get these angry nut job politicians today that we got? Well, when you think in terms of that campaign, which was 40 years ago, Reagan never ran a negative ad. I had Mondale

ran a few, but they weren't very, they weren't anything compared to what they are today.

And, you know, it's a different world. Today, both campaigns are starting up early and

it's full, full, on the gas on negative advertising.

So I expect by the time we get to, when voters get their chance to participate,

they're going to be pretty well saturated with all the negatives.

Hey, back then, obviously there was a little media bias that would slant it a little against Reagan.

But nowadays, it's just total corruption.

They'll just attack the Republican, left and right, never go after the Democrat.

How do you run a campaign in a world like that?

Well, you just have to assume that's the given and just go around it as much as you can,
